Camping is a time to enjoy a lot of your favorite foods and it may seem like your family is eating continually. Whole wheat graham crackers are handy to have around and can be spread with peanut butter, Nutella, and/or banana slices for a healthy and satisfying snack.
Frozen grapes are delicious – and they’ll help to keep your cooler to temp. You can wash them and put them in a plastic bag then just toss them in the freezer. They are perfect on a warm day and very nutritious. Granola and yogurt parfaits are great for breakfast or a fast snack during in the afternoon. Layer them with berries in a paper cup and save yourself the dish washing afterward.
Cubed cheese and lunch meat can be eaten on Triscuit crackers for a filling snack. Or mix up tuna salad which usually goes over well. You could make a plate of sliced tomatoes & mozzarella cheese and leave out a bowl of trail mix. The kids can help themselves and they’ll be eating healthy at the same time.
Some people bring a small blender to make smoothies while they are camping. They are fresh and cool and can be customized to each individual’s favorite ingredients. Another favorite is hummus and pita chips.
